Dornoch Castle Hotel has a total of 22 en suite bedrooms situated within the oldest part of the castle and the modern extension. Every room has its own special theme and ambience, each bringing out a piece of history.

The castle is ideally situated for golf enthusiasts, as the famous Royal Dornoch Championship Golf Course is only a stone’s throw away from the Castle.

Only an hour north of Inverness, Dornoch Castle guests can enjoy a panoramic trip north through the Scottish Highlands before settling in to enjoy a gourmet dining experience.

Enjoy that special candle-lit dinner in the Garden Restaurant which overlooks the formal walled gardens; or for a more informal meal in front of the roaring log fire in the 11ft fireplace that was formerly the Bishop’s kitchen in the 1500’s.

The Castle’s original restaurant and dining room has been transformed into the Whisky Bar and reception that features 15th Century stonewalls, completed with oak panelling and Caithness slab flooring.

Dornoch Castle Hotel put huge time and effort into their green activities as evidenced in their Gold Award. They have invested in a woodchip boiler that powers all of their hot water and heating. Energy saving lightbulbs have been installed throughout.

Their chefs use locally sourced produce to showcase Scottish food and drink including locally caught mussels, homemade damson gin and home-grown herbs.
